Thankfully it doesn’t happen often, but it’s really important to have thorough oral examinations to look for oral cancer. During your dental check up, the consulting dentists have a look at your tongue, gums and all around your mouth to look for any lesions. Referral to a specialist to further investigate these issues can be organised if any abnormalities are detected.
