Childrens Dental

Bringing young children with you to your dental check up appointment is a good way to introduce them to the dental environment. They get to know the sights, sounds and smells of our surgery so that when it is time for their first check up, they have been here before.

A toddler sitting on a parents lap, sometimes even in the waiting room can be the first look we have at the child. By the age of about 4, our consulting dentsits like to see the child and have a good look at their teeth.

Over the next few years, when their baby teeth are lost and their adult teeth begin to erupt, can be a vulnerable time and 6 monthly visits are ideal.

As children are finishing primary school, we would look for any crowding issues that might need orthodontic assessment.
